General FAQ

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

At Pawtown, all dogs that come for boarding or grooming must have current vaccinations. Specifically, they need to be up to date on Rabies, DAPP, and have a 6-month Bordetella vaccine. However, if your dog is only coming for grooming, we only require an annual Bordetella vaccine. In case you are unable to pick up your pet within 30 minutes after receiving our text, your pet will be placed in daycare and given a Bordetella vaccine for their safety. It’s recommended that your pet be on a lice/tick control medicine, and we do body checks regularly to ensure our facility is clean. Nonetheless, this is an open play environment, so pets can easily transfer things, and we suggest discussing with your veterinarian to keep your pet’s health a priority.

It’s essential to ensure that we have current vaccinations on file for your pet. You can upload them to your pet’s online account, and if you don’t provide current vaccinations during check-in, we won’t be able to accommodate your reservations. Thus, please make sure we have up-todate vaccinations to avoid any inconvenience. Before checking your pet into our facility, please make sure to verify that their vaccines are current. If you find that your pet's vaccinations have expired, we suggest contacting your veterinarian for an updated list, which they usually email to you. You can then upload the vaccine documents to your pet's profile online. In case you’re unable to upload proof of vaccination online, please bring the hardcopy or show it on your phone during check-in. It’s important to note that we will no longer be able to contact your vet to obtain vaccine records. Thus, it’s your responsibility to ensure that we have up-to-date records on file for your pet to avoid any inconvenience during check-in.

Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered?

At our Pawtown Play-All-Day Daycare, we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our furry guests. Thus, it’s important that all dogs are friendly towards both other dogs and humans to enter the center. However, if your pup tends to be dog-aggressive, we can still accommodate their daycare needs in our Structured Play Daycare Center. Moreover, please note that all dogs should be spayed or neutered by seven months to enter our Play-All-Day Daycare Pool, park and gym area. We don’t make any exceptions to this rule, but if your pup is seven months old and hasn’t been spayed/neutered, we can still accommodate their daycare needs in our Structured Play Daycare Center. We’re always happy to help you find the best daycare option for your furry friend. Note: there is a marginal fee for unaltered pets.

Can I bring my puppy?

Once your pet’s vaccines are complete and if the pet is 4 months or older, he/she is welcome at Pawtown Oasis.

Can I come without a dog?

We do allow prospective clients to tour our facilities without their pets.

Grooming FAQ

What are your services/prices?

Please visit the pricing page for a full list of dog grooming services.

Can I stay with my dog during grooming?

Because dog grooming is much easier and safer when the owner leaves, both for the groomer and your pooch, owners are invited to leave the facility during grooming. Feel free to call at any time to see how Doggo is doing.

Do you work with difficult dogs?

Dog groomers are skilled at keeping dogs calm during the grooming process. At Pawtown, we help pooches learn to enjoy the grooming process. “Difficult” dogs may require a few mini-sessions before they are fully comfortable with the grooming process.

How long does grooming take?

Pawtown offers many dog grooming services, each of which takes a different amount of time. Grooming time also depends on the length and condition of the dog’s hair. See our pricing page for approximate grooming times.

Dog Pool FAQ

How do you keep the dog pool clean?

We regularly skim the surface of our dog pool for hair and other particles. We also use a saline-based sanitation system that is much gentler than traditional chlorination. Also, we use a pool vacuum system and a pool filtering system to keep the water clean.

Is the dog pool heated?

No. But we keep the temperature at 72 degrees all the time in the pool area.

Will the pool chemicals hurt my dog?

We use the gentlest chemical system possible to promote pool sanitation and pet safety. Your dog’s skin could benefit from a quick rinse to remove any salt residue. Dogs naturally swallow a small amount of water when swimming, which is why we use saline instead of chlorine. The pool water may cause a temporary tummy ache if your dog drinks more than a few cups of it.

Are you first aid certified?

Yes, our staff members are trained to handle emergency situations and they are first aid
certified.
